I'm watching the Japanese version with subtitles because I can read just fine but what exactly is this mind-numbing brain rot passing as dialog?

An adult sat down and wrote this !@#$? Really? Why is literally everyone a pretentious edge-lord? Who is even watching and rating this garbage 10/10?

It isn't what?

I'm guessing they were countering about it supposedly being pretentious brain rot garbage?

I haven't seen this, but it's consistently rated high by fans & critics alike (tmdb 82%, rottentomatoes audience 90%, rottentom critics 86%).

Unless it's a global conspiracy that everyone's in on except the OP, this can't be brain rot.

OP mentioned reading subtitles. I can think of a few productions that were killed in translation to English. For example the Korean cult hit You Are Beautiful is awesome for the first dozen episodes, but the last few are a nonsensical mess and it's entirely because of the subtitles (grammatical errors, spelling errors, sentences literally making no logical sense).

Who knows what's the deal here. If I get a chance to watch it I'll come back here with an objective review.
